Will I get charged overdue fines?

No. The Claremont Colleges Library does not currently charge overdue fines. However, items that remain long overdue are marked lost, and you may be billed for the replacement cost.

How will I know something is due?

You will receive an email reminder 2 days before the due date and another reminder 2 days after if the item becomes overdue. Not receiving an email does not remove your responsibility to return or renew items on time.

Can I renew overdue or soon-due items?

Most items can be renewed unless someone else needs them. Log in to your library account to check due dates or request renewals.

What if I think I already returned an item?

If you believe you already returned an item that is still showing on your account, please email library@claremont.edu. We will search for the item three times over one month. If we find it, it will be cleared from your account. If not, it will remain on your account until it is returned or replaced.

What are the replacement fees?

Replacement fees may vary depending on the type of item lost. Unpaid replacement fees will suspend borrowing and renewal privileges. Replacement fees may be paid by debit/credit card at the Main Services Desk, or by calling the Library at (909) 621-8150. To ask about providing your own replacement copy, please email library@claremont.edu.
