Many of the library's eBooks can be downloaded as pdfs. However, many of the books in Ebook Central are protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM), which restricts the download and usage of digital media in a variety of ways. Below, you will find instructions for downloading DRM-protected eBooks on ProQuest Ebook Central.
Downloading ProQuest Ebook Central eBooks
When you click the “Download Book” button on an eBook that is DRM-protected on Ebook Central, the platform will walk you through the process.
1. First, you can decide how long you would like to borrow the title by choosing one of the available Loan Length options. At this point click the “Confirm” button.
2. On the next screen, your loan will be confirmed.
- If you already have the Ebook Central Reader App installed on your device, you can click “Close”. The title will be available for you in the App.
- If you do not have the Ebook Central Reader App installed, click “Continue”
3. On the next page, note the 7-digit numerical code and then click the “Download the App” button.
4. On the next screen, choose the corresponding download option for the system you are using to install the Ebook Central Reader App.
5. To finish the installation, enter the 7-digit numerical code when prompted. This will tie the App to your Ebook Central account and any eBooks you have checked out on the platform.
Once the installation is complete, you will be able to download DRM-protected titles from the EBook Central platform and read them offline.
