Many of the library's eBooks can be downloaded as pdfs. However, many of the books in EBSCOhost and ProQuest are protected by Digital Rights Management (DRM), which restricts the download and usage of digital media in a variety of ways. Below, you will find instructions for downloading DRM-protected books.

EBSCOhost eBooks

To download eBooks from our EBSCOhost platform, you need two things.

1. Adobe Digital Editions (ADE); this is a free e-reader application for mobile devices, laptops, and desktops. Download ADE from the Adobe website. ADE requires a self-designated user name and password. You can use any email address you'd like for your ADE account.

2. A My EBSCOhost account; note that this is different from your campus account that provides access to EBSCOhost. You can use any email address for your EBSCOhost account.

Create a My EBSCOhost account by clicking on the Sign In button in the upper right-hand corner of the EBSCO screen

Once you have your My EBSCOhost account set up, you can click on the DOWNLOAD button to download as much of the text as the publisher allows.

You will be prompted to choose a download location on your computer. Once you've done that, the PDF of the eBook will open in Adobe Digital Editions.

ProQuest Ebook Central

To download eBooks from our ProQuest platform, you need only Adobe Digital Editions.

1. Adobe Digital Editions (ADE); this is a free e-reader application for mobile devices, laptops, and desktops. Download ADE from the Adobe website. ADE requires a self-designated user name and password. You can use any email address you'd like for your ADE account.

2. Once you have ADE on your computer, click Download Book. You will be prompted to choose a download format, how long you wish to check the book out for and a download location on your computer. Once you've done that, the PDF or EPub of the eBook will open in Adobe Digital Editions.
