Claremont LibKey: Connecting you to The Claremont Colleges Library!

Claremont LibKey is a browser extension that facilitates access to library subscription content and Open Access resources. Claremont LibKey works with the Library to provide you the fastest path to the content that you are looking for.

Benefits of using the extension:

  • Provides one-click access from publisher websites, PubMed, Google Scholar, and Wikipedia references to scholarly articles the Library subscribes to.
  • Provides one-click access to Open Access scholarly articles with the help of Unpaywall and other sources.
  • Uses the Library's standard authentication method, so there are no new credentials to remember.
  • Quickly links you to Resource Sharing in order to request articles not available through the Library's subscriptions.

Please Note: Browsers may soon obscure your precise IP address location, potentially affecting your access to resources while on campus. Claremont LibKey provides a solution to navigate this challenge.

Installing Claremont LibKey on Your Browser

  1. Visit the webpage for LibKey Nomad
  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page
  3. Select your browser
  4. Click “Install” or “Get” **
  5. On the LibKey Nomad “Options” page, search for and select “The Claremont Colleges Library”

**Please Note: When installing the LibKey Nomad extension in Chrome, you may see a warning that the extension can "Read and change all your data on the websites you visit." The extension is safe. It only reads web page data on specific sites to find a DOI and changes the web page by adding a resource link if a DOI is found.

Using Claremont LibKey to Find Full-Text
