FAQ: How do I access resources at the California Botanic Garden Library and Archive?

As of Spring 2023, due to a staffing shortage, the California Botanic Garden Library and Archives (CalBG) is currently closed to anyone outside of the Claremont Graduate University, Botany program and will remain closed until further notice.

During this closure, you may still browse the CalBG collection guides and find digitized items or access botany-related materials at The Claremont Colleges Library. Search for items held at The Claremont Colleges Library by using Library Search and access eBooks or find the call number for print items. Print materials may be found on Mudd 1, just inside the south entrance to the left of the Main Services desk.

You may also use the Botany research guide to find databases and research support or find unique botany-related materials held within its special collections. To access, please first make an appointment with a special collections librarian. If you are a current student or faculty member who has research needs within the field of Botany, please make an appointment with the subject librarian.
