Our main online access points for Special Collections materials are:

  1. Library Search for books, periodicals, and select manuscript collections

  • When conducting your search, choose “Honnold/Mudd Special Collections” as your library to limit your results.
  • To request a physical copy to view in our reading room, click the title, and then click the request item message in green. You will be redirected to our patron request system where you can log in to complete your request.
  • Please consult our guide to setting up a Special Collections account for step-by-step instructions.

  1. Online Archive of California (OAC) for finding aids to archival and manuscript collections

  1. Claremont Colleges Digital Library for materials that have been digitized

  • Please contact us for further information about our digitized collections.

Because there are so many different kinds of materials found in Special Collections--books, papers, photographs, maps, artworks, artifacts, just to name a few--there are many ways to search for and use the source material you need. Some collections have print inventories and some may be indexed in a database accessible only in the Special Collections Reading Room. When you are ready to begin your research, we encourage you to consult with a Special Collections librarian for assistance with locating primary source material.
